Scott's Biography
Scott Hochuli has been in the remodeling business since 1992. Not thinking about it. Not planning to get into it someday. Actually in it, learning the trade from the inside out, working for some of the best companies in the Phoenix Valley until the people around him started asking a question he couldn't keep ignoring: why are you building someone else's business?
In 2001, he and his wife Lorrie answered that question. They founded Hochuli Design & Remodeling Team together, and in the early days that meant walking neighborhoods side by side, distributing door hangers by hand. Today the company handles projects up to $1 million, has earned multiple NARI Contractor of the Year awards including National CotY in 2018, and has been recognized with Best of Houzz Design and Service awards across more than a decade.
Scott served as Chapter President of the Greater Phoenix NARI chapter and the company is licensed with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. None of that is why clients refer him to their friends. But it is why their friends feel safe saying yes.
What actually drives Scott is the belief that a remodeling company can operate the way almost none of them do — with enough honesty, enough communication, and enough genuine care for the person living through the disruption that the experience itself becomes something worth remembering. He journaled about customer service moments for twenty five years. Eventually he stopped pretending it was just a training guide and published it as a book: Crush Expectations: Creating a Positive Remodeling Experience, available on Amazon.
Every new Hochuli team member reads it. In a book club. With Scott. In their first week.
He is an Arizona native, son of retired NFL official Ed Hochuli, husband to Lorrie, and father to Devan and Ryann. Outside of work he smokes BBQ for family and friends, mountain bikes, and drives a classic truck with Lorrie riding shotgun.
