Lorrie's Biography
Lorrie Hochuli has been shaping how Phoenix area homes look and feel for more than two decades, and her best skill by her own account isn't design. It's listening.
That instinct runs through everything she does. When a client arrives with a folder full of inspiration images that seem to have nothing in common, Lorrie finds the thread. She identifies the feeling behind the choices before she identifies the finishes, and that sequence by putting emotion first, specification second, is what separates a design that photographs well from one a family actually wants to live in.
A Pittsburgh transplant who moved to the Phoenix area in high school, Lorrie went on to earn design certificates from Mesa Community College and Arizona State University and holds Allied membership with the American Society of Interior Designers. She keeps up her formal and social education to stay ahead of market trends, not as a formality, but because the industry moves and she moves with it.
Since co-founding Hochuli Design & Remodeling Team with Scott in 2001, Lorrie has been the design backbone of every project. She joins in-home consultations on most projects, contributes to the design awards the company has earned including multiple Best of Houzz Design recognitions, and has a particular gift for the client who arrives uncertain. By the end of the design process, they are not uncertain anymore.
Outside the business, Lorrie is a longtime autism awareness advocate. She served on the board of the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) and has supported Autism Speaks through committee work and fundraising.
